Frequently asked questions
How much does tixandvotes cost?
Signing up is free. You pay a one-time ₦10,000 to unlock your account before your first competition, then run as many competitions as you like. We keep 10% of the vote money from each paid vote. There is no subscription.
When do I get paid?
Your 90% of the vote money goes straight to your own bank account, usually by the next business day (payments on weekends and public holidays arrive on the next working day). There is no wallet and no withdrawal request to make.
Who pays the processing fee?
The voter. The payment provider's processing fee is added on top of the vote price and shown before payment, so it never reduces your share.
How do fans vote?
They open your voting link or scan your QR code, pick a contestant, choose how many votes to buy and pay securely by card, bank transfer or USSD. Their votes are added as soon as the payment is confirmed, and the leaderboard updates live.
Can votes be faked?
A vote only counts after we confirm the payment with the payment provider ourselves, never from what a browser says. Each payment is counted once, and each competition has a limit on votes per payment.
What kinds of events can I run?
Award shows, pageants, talent hunts, campus and church competitions, and other contests where fans pay to vote. Each award category is its own competition with its own contestants and leaderboard. Paid voting must not be run as a lottery or game of chance.
Do I need a registered business?
No. Individuals and organisations can both sign up. Your account name must match the name on the bank account you are paid into, exactly, so payouts reach the right person.
Can I sell tickets?
Ticketing is coming soon. Today tixandvotes runs paid voting.
How does the partner programme work?
Partners refer organizers with their own link. A partner earns 2% of the vote money on each referred competition that raises at least ₦100,000, paid from our share, never from the organizer's. Earnings are paid to the partner's bank automatically after each competition ends; there is nothing to withdraw.
